GO buses will replace trains at Hamilton’s West Harbour GO station this weekend and next due to maintenance work along the Lakeshore West line.
Metrolinx says Lakeshore West train service will run hourly between Union Station and Oakville GO. Buses will replace trains from Oakville GO and West Harbour GO.
Buses will also replace some late-night Friday trains between Oakville GO and West Harbour GO.
There will be no GO Transit service at Appleby and Bronte GO stations, but local transit options will be available, according to the Metrolinx website.
Regular early morning and late-night route 18 buses will still operate throughout the weekend.
Niagara Falls trips affected too
For Niagara Falls commuters, trains will run between Niagara Falls GO and Aldershot GO this weekend.
On June 22 and 23, trains will run between Niagara Falls and Burlington.
Some schedules have also been adjusted.
Part of Burloak Drive to be closed for 10 days
Metrolinx says the maintenance work is for “future grade separation” at Burloak Drive, which would “allow for vehicle traffic to flow unobstructed by rail traffic,” and contribute to plans for faster all-day service.
That work will include repairing parts of the track near Burlington and completing work at the Long Branch GO station to make it “fully accessible.”
The agency said crews are preparing to build a temporary diversion track for trains.
Burloak Drive will be closed both ways between Harvester and Wyecroft roads, and Prince William Drive and Superior Court from June 14 to 24.
Between 3 and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, that stretch will be open to southbound traffic.
The intersection at Burloak and Prince William drives will remain open.
