3 people in hospital after car crash on Hamilton Mountain, police say

Hamilton police are asking the public for help as it investigates a crash on Sunday that left one woman in critical condition and injured two others.

In a media release, the police service says officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Upper James Street between Dickenson Road East and English Church Road East shortly before 1 p.m.

Police say a 24-year-old man was driving a 2016 Honda Civic and rear-ended a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with an 86-year-old woman and her 59-year-old daughter.

The 86-year-old from Hamilton was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and her daughter was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old, from Hagersville, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police want to speak with any witnesses or anyone in the area who may have footage between 12:40 p.m. and 12:55 p.m.

CBC Hamilton contacted the police service for more details but the service declined to answer.
