1 person dead, 3 others hurt after car crash in Waterdown: Hamilton police

Hamilton police say a 42-year-old is dead and three other people are hurt after a car crash on Tuesday night in Waterdown.

Officers responded to reports of a collision just after 11 p.m., the police service said in a release.

The service says a black Dodge Ram pickup truck and a white Toyota sedan collided at Dundas Street East and Avonsyde Boulevard.

The Dodge driver, 42, was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

Three people in the Toyota were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Images from the scene show the front of both vehicles mangled.

Dundas Street East was closed in both directions from Mallard Trail to Evans Road and was expected to reopen Wednesday morning.

Hamilton police say anyone with information can contact the service’s collision reconstruction unit.

CBC Hamilton contacted the police service for more details.
