It was a sporty day on Sunday at Mohawk College as hundreds of young athletes tested their abilities at the RBC Training Ground.
The free event is designed to discover athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 with Olympic potential and provide them with the high-performance sports resources and funding they need to reach the professional level.
On Sunday, athletes got the chance to show their abilities in speed, strength, power, and endurance tests.
Carson Corey became an RBC future olympian last year but attended Sunday’s training ground to motivate other athletes.
“It’s really about doing your best rather than getting nervous about the other people here,” said Corey.
The program has already helped 13 athletes compete in past Olympic games leading to several Olympic medals.
