Niagara police identify human remains found in West Lincoln as missing man

Niagara police have confirmed that the human remains found in the township of West Lincoln in early October are that of a man who went missing in March of 2022.

Police have identified the person as Kyle Brocklebank, who was last seen in the Smithville area on March 24th of that year and was reported missing a few weeks later.

REMAINS FOUND

Human remains were reported to Niagara police on Oct. 9 of this year in the vicinity of Young Street and South Grimsby Road 6 West.

When officers arrived, they discovered that an area resident had located a jawbone, believed to be human. Clothing was also found.

Police forensics members and a forensic anthropologist were also involved in the investigation as were detectives and a police missing person coordinator.

Criminality is not suspected in the death and there is no risk to public safety.

Police say further details will not be released out of respect for Brocklebank’s family and his privacy.
