UPDATE: One Person Arrested in Lincoln Alexander Parkway Fatality

Hamilton Police have arrested one male in connection to a fatality on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway yesterday.

On Friday, October 11, 2024, just after 2:30 pm, a collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway, in Hamilton.

Witnesses reported that two or three vehicles were racing eastbound on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in the area of the Upper Gage Avenue overpass. Two of the vehicles collided and lost control.  One vehicle was able to regain control but a Toyota SUV left the road and rolled a few times. During the roll, one or more occupants were ejected from the Toyota. 

Three of the Toyota occupants were transported to hospital with serious injuries. One of the injured parties, a 15-year-old male from Hamilton, was pronounced dead soon after arriving at the hospital. 

Due to the severity of the injuries, the HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called in and has carriage of the investigation.

Vincenzino Stumpo, an 18-year-old male from Hamilton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm
  • Dangerous Operation causing death

Stumpo appeared in court on Saturday, October 12.  A bail hearing for Stumpo is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15th, 2024.

Investigators are still seeking the identity of any other vehicles or persons involved. 

A stretch of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway was closed for several hours for the investigation, but has since re-opened. This is the City’s tenth fatal collision of 2024.
