Hamilton police are investigating a shooting in a Stoney Creek neighbourhood Thursday night, the city’s 54th reported shooting of the year.
Officers responded to a call reporting gunshots at around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Showcase Drive, in the southeast region of Stoney Creek Mountain.
Detectives say they confirm that a shooting had occurred.

This has officially broken the city’s record of reported shootings in one year, beating 53 shootings in 2020.
Investigators are looking for a silver SUV that possibly fled from the scene at high speed heading westbound on Showcase Drive.
Police say they believe the shooting was targeted, but the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
