HAMILTON, ON – Today, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice granted the City of Hamilton’s request for an urgent Injunction Order against Club 33, located at 33 Bowen Street.
The venue has been operating in contravention of the City’s by-laws and has been the focal point of numerous violent incidents in the area.
The Injunction Order takes effect immediately and will remain in place until September 12, 2024, when the City will have the opportunity to seek an extension of the Injunction.
This Order prohibits Club 33 from conducting any business requiring a license, including as a bar, nightclub, after-hours club, restaurant, or entertainment venue, without first obtaining the necessary license. It also permits the Hamilton Police Service to take all reasonable measures to enforce the Order, including arresting, detaining, and removing anyone contravening the Order.
The City has notified the owner of Club 33 and will be posting a copy of the Order at the premises.
