Police arrested a London man in August connected to an auto fraud and identity theft investigation resulting in over $1.5 million in losses.
Officers began an investigation in March where they suspected that someone used their position at a local dealership to fraudulently gain high-end vehicles.
Detectives say a sales representative at the dealership allegedly took out loans in the names of 23 people without their permission.
Investigators say that 14 high-end vehicles were purchased using this money between November 2023 to March 2024 totaling over $1.5 million in losses for the dealership and financial institutions.

Hamilton police arrested 44-year-old Shelton Mark Gregouire from London on August 14, and charged him with 23 counts of identity theft and multiple counts of fraud over $5,000.
The arrest report for Gregouire says that most of the bought vehicles have been exported out of the country, or re-registered with new Vehicle Identification Numbers, with one vehicle recovered so far.
Gregouire is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
Police say that the victims of identity theft were unaware that loans were taken out in their names.
The department says the investigation remains active and asks anyone with information to contact police.
