49th Dundas Cactus Festival brings family fun to Dundas streets

The 49th Dundas Cactus Festival is in full swing, with organizers expecting over 100,000 attendees before it wraps up on Sunday.

The threat of rain did not deter people from wanting to enjoy all the vendors, entertainment, and good food the festival has to offer.

In 1976, it started as a small street sale, then added music and food before growing into the big party it is today.

Steve Dreighton is the President of the Dundas Cactus Festival and says the goal is to bring the community together.

“Tonight we’ve got 4 music stages, kids stage, inflatables zone is still open, the interactives are happening. The big headliner tonight a local favourite, ‘Freedom Train’ is on the main stage,” said Dreighton.
