A break-in at a local Hamilton baseball association’s canteen has left the club with a serious money deficit.
The theft happened earlier this week, and club vice president Ryan Maggio says a cooler, and $200 worth of snacks and pop were stolen.
But, Maggio says replacing the doors and locks on the canteen structure could cost closer to $3,000.
While the snack hut was a place kids enjoyed, it also served as a way to lower baseball fees through sales.
Club members say that money will now be used to fix the damage.
This is not the first theft incident the baseball association has dealt with this year.
Maggio says this is the second successful theft on club property, on top of four or five break-in attempts on their equipment shed.
The club is now calling on the City of Hamilton for help.
