Halton Regional police have arrested a Hamilton man in connection to a series of break and enters in Oakville businesses.
Officers arrested 34-year-old Spencer Dwyer from Hamilton on July 26, and charged him with multiple offences related to breaking and entering.
Police responded to calls of break-ins during the overnight hours of July 7 and July 9 at multiple commercial locations in Oakville.
Detectives allege that a single person had broken into six businesses over the two nights, including Hudson’s Bay company, Freshway Market and Tommy Hilfiger.
Investigators believe that Dwyer had gained entry to the storefronts by breaking glass or forcing open doors before taking clothes, groceries and cash. While leaving from the Hudson’s Bay Company location, allege that the Dwyer nearly hit a security guard with his vehicle before driving away.
The security guard was not injured during the break-in.
Dwyer is in custody pending a bail hearing at a courthouse in Milton.
