Niagara police make arrest in Value Village robbery, assault case

Niagara police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with an ongoing investigation into an assault and robbery incident that occurred earlier this month.

On July 8, uniformed officers dispatched to a Value Village parking lot after receiving reports of a robbery.

Preliminary findings indicated a man was in his car, when he was approached by another man who allegedly assaulted him and stole his wallet.

Officers say the suspect and victim did not know each other, and the incident was “unprovoked.”

Police say the suspect fled in a white, four-door vehicle being operated by a woman. She is not believed to be an active participant in the incident at this time.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries following the assault.

Earlier this week, police confirmed they had arrested 40-year-old David Morgan of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

He is facing charges of robbery and failure to comply with probation orders.

Police continue to accept tips about this case, and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009059.
