‘Caravan for Palestine’ marks cross-border rally in Niagara Falls

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian supporters gathered in Niagara Falls for a cross-border rally on Sunday.

Chartered busses and car caravans showed up en masse to mark the “Caravan for Palestine” movement around 1 p.m. at the corner of Highway 420 and Stanley Avenue.

Calls for a ceasefire and banners marked with demands for an arms embargo filled the streets on either side of the border, a first of its kind in over 30 years.

“The Palestinian community is more united than ever,” Gabriel Gebril, one of the demonstrations organizers, said. “We are able to organize across the Golden Horseshoe and across colonial borders. We will keep growing in strength and numbers for as long as it takes to achieve liberation.”

Their peaceful rally culminated in the Clifton Hills area around 5:30 p.m. and dispersed shortly after that.
