SIU investigating death of 49-year-old man in Hamilton

Ontario’s top police watchdog is investigating after Hamilton officers found an unresponsive man who later died in hospital.

Emergency crews responded to a home in Dundas around 10:45 p.m. Monday for a medical call.

The Special Investigations Unit says police found a man who was incoherent and unresponsive inside of the home.

Officers restrained the man, allowing paramedics to treat him.

Paramedics transported him to hospital without vital signs. He died in hospital on Thursday.

The SIU says a post-mortem has been scheduled for Friday.

Three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to look into the case.
