Shooting Response Team Make Arrests in King St and MacNab St Shooting

https://crimestoppershamilton.com/At approximately 11:00 a.m. on June 28, 2024, a shooting occurred at the intersection of King Street and MacNab Street, near the Frank A. Cooke Transit Terminal. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Investigators with the Hamilton Police Shooting Response Team have taken over the investigation and have made two arrests. Due to the young age of one suspect, the Hamilton Police Service cannot disclose their identity under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police believe this shooting was a targeted event related to a dispute between the individuals involved. The following individuals have been arrested and face the following charges:

A 15-year-old male from Hamilton (identity protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act):

  1. Discharge Firearm with Intent
  2. Aggravated Assault with a Weapon
  3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  4. Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order
  5. Fail to Comply – Probation Order

A 21-year-old male from Hamilton:

  1. Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
  2. Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
  3. Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
