Police raid seizes $95K, drugs, and loaded pistol in St. Catharines

A man is facing a litany of charges after a police raid found drugs, cash and a loaded handgun at a home in St. Catharines.

Police say they raided the home near Glenridge Avenue and Glen Morris Drive on Tuesday.

The raid led police to confiscate multiple illegal weapons and drugs, including a loaded 45-calibre handgun, $92,000 and numerous hard drugs like cocaine, hydromorphone and fentanyl.

Mohamed Mojahid, a 20-year-old from St. Catharines, was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including:

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Hydromorphone) for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Resist Arrest

Mojahid is being held in custody and is expected to appear at a bail hearing in a St. Catharines courthouse on Wednesday.
