Partial road closures in Dundas and Hamilton Mountain due to maintenance work: city

A major road in Dundas will be partially closed for most of this year due to maintenance work, according to the city.

The city reduced traffic on Governors Road to one lane from Main Street to 100 metres west of Ogilvie Street on Monday.

That’s near the Dundas Valley Metro.

The partial closure will remain until December, but businesses will remain open, according to the city.

The city said it is fixing up the road, the sidewalk, the trunk sanitary sewer and the bridge. It is also replacing a watermain.

“While it is not anticipated the work will require closing the road entirely while construction is underway, the lane restrictions will result in traffic delays,” read a press release from the city.

Concession Street partially closed until August

A busy street on the Hamilton Mountain is also partially closed, but is expected to reopen much sooner.

There’s a temporary lane closure on Concession Street between Highcliffe Avenue and Vola Court.

It started Monday and is near Sam Lawrence Park.

The city said it is fixing a retaining wall and fixing up the sidewalk, among other things.

It is expected to reopen on Aug. 2.

You can find other upcoming road closures on the city’s website.
