Hamilton Police have arrested a 27-year-old male suspected of sexually assaulting a female at a residence in Twenty Place.
On Thursday, May 9, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the suspect entered a residence in the Twenty Place community, located near Twenty Road and Upper James Street in the City of Hamilton. A female victim was assaulted by the suspect before he fled out the front door.
After investigation, Hamilton Police have arrested Nelson Melo, 27-years-old, from Hamilton. Melo was located at his residence yesterday afternoon. He has been charged with the following:
- Sexual assault
- Break and enter
- Utter threat
There was an extensive canvass in the area and Hamilton Police would like to thank the public for their cooperation in the initial stages of the investigation for providing valuable information.
