A Grimsby man is facing charges after he accidentally shot himself.
Niagara police say they were called on Saturdays night around 6 p.m. to a home near Livingstone Avenue and Roberts Road.
When they arrived, a 37-year-old was discovered at the scene with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury.
He was taken to a local hospital and released a short time later.
The following day, a search warrant of his home led police to several firearms from his property.
As a result, Justin Melo is now facing the the following charges:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
