There will be five Activation Hubs along King Street East, located primarily at future LRT stops including John, Wellington, Wentworth, Sherman, and Scott Park (Bernie Morelli Rec Centre).

To ensure the safety and security of those attending the event, King Street East from Gage Avenue to John Street will be closed to motor-vehicle traffic effective for the following dates and times:

  • Sunday, May 26 from 7 am to 4 pm
  • Sunday, June 23 from 7 am to 4 pm

HSR Routes 1 and 10 will be detoured westbound from Gage Avenue to John Street via Cannon Street, with temporary bus stops for both routes along Cannon Street. View more information on HSR detours

The road closures will not impact Emergency Services and their accessibility to residents.

Open Streets are programs where the streets are opened to people and closed to cars. People traffic replaces car traffic, and the streets become “paved parks” where people of all ages, abilities, and social, economic and ethnic background can come together. Open Streets happen all over the world to promote physical activity and engage with our streets in a fun way.

The City of Hamilton thanks residents, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for their patience.
